Buldhana SP Nikhil Gupta transferred to Nasik

Nagpur, Apr 14 (UNI) In a minor reshuffle in the State's police department, Nikhil Gupta, District Superintendent of Police (SP) in Buldhana district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, has been transferred to Nasik in the same capacity.

Mr Gupta has been replaced in Buldhana by Himmatrao Deshbhratar, who was earlier Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Headquarters in Pune, Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amravati Range V D Mishra told UNI today.

Mr Mishra described the transfers as ''routine''. The post of SP Nasik was vacant till now, he said. Mr Deshbhratar assumed charge of his new assignment yesterday.

Incidentally, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Buldhana Vasant Ade complained last week that on April 5, the then SP had insulted him in the latter's chamber. Mr Ade made the complaint to the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Special IG Amravati range.

Mr Mishra said Mr Gupta's transfer had 'nothing to do' with the complaint.
