Babasaheb infused self-confidence among deprived sections: Sudarshan

Indore, Apr 14 (UNI) RSS Chief K S Sudarshan today said Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had infused self-confidence among 'dalits' and deprived sections.

Mr Sudarshan, while addressing a programme organised at Dr Ambedkar's birthplace MHOW near here, said Babasaheb gave an example to reach the top by struggling against all odds.

On the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said a 'Mahakumbh' would be organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar every year on the lines of 'Sinhasta' in Ujjain.

He said people must rise above politics and appreciate the decision.

Throwing light on Dr Ambedkar's life, Mr Sudarshan said his religious impressions were strong and he worked for protecting religion.

He was never opposed to anyone and he struggled whole life to bring about unity in society.

Mr Sudarshan said all sections of society must go to each other's home, have meals together and enter into matrimonial relations in order to strengthen society.

He said 'Samrasta Sammelan' should be organised every year so that no discrimination existed.

Calling untouchability anti-religion, the RSS chief called for ending discrimination.

Buddhist spiritual leader 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje praised the state government for constructing a beautiful stupa on the occasion of Babasaheb's birth anniversary.

He hoped that the stupa would become a centre for peace, unity, equality and justice.

The Karmapa said conflict, terror, discrimination and hatred resulted in human pain. The Buddhist religion and Dr Ambedkar's life gave inspiration to struggled against them.

Mr Chouhan said Dr Ambedkar was a messenger of social equality and nationalism. He had strongly opposed foreign rule.

Babasaheb adopted a religion that gave message of love and compassion.

He said the monument would be complete in four months.

The Chief Minister said the government was preparing welfare schemes for SCs after holding discussion with them. A 'SC Panchayat' was organised at his residence in this regard recently during which several decisions pertaining their welfare were taken.

He said Rs one lakh award would be provided to someone doing significant work towards removing untouchability. Besides, Ambedkar Mangal Bhawan would be built in SC assembly constituencies.

State BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar said MHOW was holy place where 'dalit kumbh' had been organised. He said the tradition would continue.

Earlier, Mr Sudarshan, Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Mr Chouhan and Mr Tomar paid tributes and garlanded Dr Ambedkar' statue at his monument in MHOW this morning. An exhibition on his life was inaugurated.
