Apna Dal chief promises to put Mulayam, Mayawati in jail

Varanasi, Apr 14 (UNI) Apna Dal president Sone Lal Patel today said if voted to power, the BJP-led alliance will uproot crime and corruption from Uttar Pradesh by first jailing BSP supremo Mayawati and present Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Addressing an election rally here in support of BJP-AD-JD(U) candidate from Gangapur assembly segment, Dr Patel said, ''if voted to power the first priority of the Kalyan Singh-led government will be to uproot crime and corruption.'' ''What better way to start this pro-people exercise, but by putting behind bars both Ms Mayawati and Mr Yadav, already facing CBI probes in corruption cases. Jail is the right place for them who have destroyed the state on all counts,'' Dr Patel alleged.

Realising the resentment within his party over the alliance with BJP, Dr Patel justified the electoral pact stating it was necessary for safegaurding the interest of all sections, especially farmers who have been the worst hit during the Samajwadi Party regime.

Dr Patel promised that if the BJP led alliance is voted to power all criminals presently roaming scot free will either be eliminated or put in jail.
