Ambala Railway Division is the best in North

Ambala, Apr 14 (UNI) The Ambala Railway Division bagged the Overall Performance Trophy for the second consective year, winning eight of the 20 shields instituted by the Northern Railway Board.

Stating this at a press conference here today, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) H K Jaggi said these trophies were awarded in recognition of excellent work done by the Division.

He said the revenue of the Division had increased by Rs 150 crore by mobilising the earning sources during the last financial year. He said the Division was declared the best Terminal Management Division in view of its year long drive of special checking in the trains.

Mr Jaggi said the Division was also adjudged the best in the field of Family Welfare and Safety, Maintenance of Carriage and Wagon and also Signal and Telecom Maintenance. He said that the Running Room Shield for the facility of drivers and guards at the time of resuming duty was also won by the Division.

He said several measures had been taken by increasing patrolling in running trains and on tracks, installing safety equipment like metal detectors, short circuit TVs on railway stations in the wake of Samjhauta Express Train bomb blasts.
