About 3,000 detonators recovered, five arrested

Dumka, Apr 14 (UNI) Police today recovered A huge cache of explosives, including 3,000 detonators, from a Bengal-bound bus and arrested five persons in this connection here.

Police said about 3,000 detonators, fuse wires and geletin sticks, packed in two bags, were recovered from a passenger bus, which was supposed to leave for Rampurhat area in West Bengal.

Police had arrested one Swapan Kumar Ravidas follwing his interrogation, four more people were nabbed from Shikaripara area of the district.

They have been identified as Hassan Sheikh, Rahimudin, Udal Sheikh and Zamil of Virbhum and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal.

Police suspected the explosives were to be used for naxal activities in the district.
