204 income generating units set up in Uri in J
Srinagar, Apr 14 (UNI) As many as 204 income generating units have been established Under Rural Employment Generation in Baramulla district by Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) last year, an official spokesman said today.
He said that Rs 5.95 crore was sanctioned as financial assistance by various financial institutions besides subsidy to the tune of Rs 1.60 crore was provided by the Board creating employment avenues for 3,900 youth in the district.
He said this information was given by the KVIB secretary R C Sharma after inaugurating a training camp organised at Naganari in border town of Uri yesterday.
The camp was aimed at training the women folk to setup their cottage industries. They will be given training how to do sozni embroidery, he said.
He was told that in Naganari village, ten such units would be established and three training centres under different crafts would be soon opened in village Chapper Sarai and Shahdara Kamalkote in Uri tehsil.
