Suspended constable attempts suicide

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) A suspended police constable today attempted suicide by hanging himself at the police quarters near Arthur Road Jail in central Mumbai.

Sayyed Jamal, attached to the Arthur Road prison, and suspended from service two months back, tried to kill himself by hanging from a ceiling fan at home at around 1600 hrs. When his family members noticed him, they rushed him to the nearby Kasturba hospital, police sources said.

He will be shifted to Nair hospital for further treatment, sources added.
