Singapore to host Asian edition of ITB Berlin

Singapore, Apr 12: Singapore is set to host the Asian edition of the world's largest travel and tourism trade show, ITB Berlin in October 2008.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) chairman and chief executive Lim Neo Chian and Messe Berlin president and CEO Raimund Hosch signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at an inauguration ceremony held at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre yesterday.

According to Messe Berlin principals, Singapore was selected as the choice location to launch ITB Asia due to its strategic location and accessibility among the emerging Asian markets, and its excellent infrastructure and track record for hosting large-scale events.

ITB Berlin, held in Berlin in every March, would be held annually in Singapore from the coming year.
