Shekhawat to inaugurate JSS college building

Mysore, Apr 12 (UNI) Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat will declare open a new building of the JSS college at Nanjangud in the district on April 14.

Addressing newspersons here today, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary B N Betekerur said the new building was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore to serve the students, particularly from the rural areas of the district. The JSS had over 315 institutions across the country serving the people mainly in the education field.

Appreciating the services of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had sanctioned Rs four crore for a women's hostel in the JSS Institutions. The UGC had also approved Rs two crore for starting job-oriented courses in the JSS institutions, he said.

Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi would preside over the function and Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa would lay the foundation stone for the women's hostel building on the occasion.
