Sexual harassment case registered against IAS officer

Shimla, Apr 12 (UNI) A case of sexual harassment has been registered against National Academy of Audit and Accounts Additional Director Saurabh Malik following a complaint by one of the female directors of the department Geetali Tare, police said today.

The case has been registered against the additional director in the Boileauganj Police Station after a complaint was filed against him, DSP (City) Madan Lal told UNI here.

Ms Tare, in her complaint against the National Academy of Audit and Accounts additional director, said he misbehaved with her after he barged into her Kotshera College rest house room on April four.

The IAS officer, who was under the influence of liquor, allegedly misbehaved with the director following which she called for help.

Other department officials, who were also residing in the neighbouring rooms of the hostel, rushed to her room and later helped her in registering a complaint against the additional director.

The Shimla DSP (City) said a case has been registered under Sections 354 and 451 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigations were on.

More details were available with DSP (headquarters) Arvind Digvijay Negi who is investigating the case, he said Sources in the National Academy of Audit and Accounts said Malik has been transferred to Thiruvananthapuram after the incident.

A departmental inquiry has also been ordered against the additional director, the sources added.
