Sarpanch hacked in AP village

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 12 (UNI) A Congress sarpanch of Akkacheruvupalem village in Podili mandal of Prakasham district was allegedly murdered by TDP rivals this afternoon.

Police said Venkateswar Reddy, riding on a motorcyle was returning to Akkacheruvupalem from Podili when suspected TDP men surrounded and hacked him with deadly weapons.

After killing the sarpanch, the assailants fled from the spot. A manhunt had been launched to nab the culprits, police added UNI
