Rains likely in north-east

Pune, Apr 12 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at a few places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Haryana and west Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and some parts of Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Chattisgarh, Rayalseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Haryana and Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh. They were markedly below normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and in some parts of Bihar. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at isolated places in Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
