People get panicky over rumour of recovery of nine babies bodies

Coochbehar, Apr 11 (UNI) A strong rumour over the recovery of packets containing the bodies of nine new born babies from a drain in front of Toofangunj Hospital in the district today sent shivers down the spine of the people here.

Earlier, District Magistrate Rajesh Sinha said the civic workers stumbled upon the packets when they were cleaning the drain in front of the hospital.

However, later Mr Sinha denied it, saying the packets actually contained the wings of birds and some other rubbishes.

The news of the recovery of the bodies sent shock waves throughout the district, and when it was found to be false, the people heaved a sigh of relief.
