Metal prices up on good industrial demand

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) Metal prices went up today on good industrial demand, in the Bombay Metal Exchange, traders here said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and Brass utencil soared by Rs 700 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively due to higher advice. Brass cutting and copper utencil also edged up by Rs 200 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively on lesser stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab also hiked by Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on better buying support.

Tin slab and nickel cathode eased by Rs five and Rs 30 per kg on improved offers by stockists.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,400, Copper utensils - Rs 34,200, Brass utensils - Rs 26,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,700 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 41,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab Rs 20,000, Lead ingots - Rs 10,700, Tin slab - Rs 800 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,350 (per kg).
