Mah Govt to instal CCTVs in district govt hospitals

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) The Maharashtra government will instal Closed Circuit TV (CCTVs) in all the district Government Hospitals in the state to curb the menace of baby snatching incidents, according to Public Health Minister Dr Vimal Mundada.

Making the announcement during Question Hour, Ms Mundada said the government had taken the baby-snatching incidents very seriously and has decided to put up CCTVs as one way to improve security at these hospitals.

She was replying to a question regarding kidnapping of a two-day old newly born baby from Nashik District Hospital on November 13 last year.

''A woman took away the baby from its mother Surekha Sansare on the pretext of showing it to the concerned doctor,'' the Minister said.

Security has been beefed up at the Hospital since then, Ms Mundada added.
