Land records official arrested for demanding bribe

Akola, Maharashtra, Apr 12 (UNI) A land records officer in the tehsil place of Chikhli in neighbouring Buldhana district has been arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 500.

Kant Bhagat, the officer, had allegedly demanded the amount from Bhimrao Limbaji Jadhav for providing certain certified copy pertaining to the latter's land. This amount was demanded in excess of the Rs 1500, which Jadhav had already paid, towards the cost of land measurement.

Jadhav lodged a complaint with the anti corruption bureau following which a trap was laid and the official nabbed.
