Killer slapped life term

Gorakhpur, Apr 12 (UNI) A local court has convicted a person accused in a murder case in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

On October 26, 1996, Bhola Vishwakarma -- a resident of Bankatwa locality -- was shot dead by Badka alias Hari Narayan over a dispute under Gorakhnath police station area.

Later, Bhola's brother lodged an FIR against Hari.

On the basis of substantial evidence, Additional District Court Judge America Singh last evening pronounced life imprisonment for the accused, besides imposing a penalty of Rs 1,000.
