IOL pacts deal ABAN to offer e-learning services

New Delhi, Apr 12: IOL Broadband Ltd today said it will launch its e-learning initiative via Interactive Broadband Services shortly and has signed an access deal with ABAN Informatics Pvt Ltd, a Chennai-based company, part of the ABAN Group.

The company will deploy edge e-learning technology and revolutionise e-learning in the country by leveraging its broadband last mile connectivity, it said.

ABAN Informatics Pvt Ltd offers curriculum specific web enabled content for CBSE and ICSE board.

''IOL Broadband's initiative and tie-up with ABAN Informatics promises to revolutionise e-Learning sector in India, allowing millions of students of our country to get instant Broadband Online access of high end 2D and 3D multimedia content of CBSE and ICSE urriculum,'' Mr Vijay Balakrishnan, VP (e-learning) of the company said.

He said the government has promised full support and encouragement to the e-learning initiatives in keeping with the HR Ministry's recent announcement to promote online education all over India.

It is estimated that over 300 million citizens of India are below 20 years age group and represent a huge opportunity for the company's e-learning initiative.

The company has also partnered with some of the leading e-learning content providers such as IL&FS ETS, educational initiatives, W3Varsity, centre for &xD;excellence in project management, an REP of PMI-USA for the most sought after online programmes in project management.
