Gang attacks bus driver

Puducherry, Apr 12 (UNI) A four-member gang attacked a bus driver with sickles today.

According to police, the unidentified gang accosted the bus when it neared the AFT mills. The gangsters entered the Cuddalore-bound private bus from here and attacked 35-year-old driver Muthumanickam of Manapattu with sharp weapons.

After threatening the conductor and passengers the assailants escaped.

Muthumanickam, who was rushed to the government general hospital here, was later shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Orleanpet police, who registered a case suspect it to be a case of mistaken identity.
