Free insurance scheme for government school students
Kochi, Apr 12 (UNI) V R Krishna Iyer Foundation in association with New India Assurance Company today launched a free insurance scheme for the students of the government schools in Kerala.
At a function here today, Kerala Minister for Fisheries S Sarma handed over an initial list of 22,000 students to New India Assurance Company Chief Regional Manager B Krishnamurthy.
Mr Krishnamurthy said the scheme would provide Rs 10,000 for medical expenses and Rs 25,000 in case of accidents.
The premium of Rs 25 for the insurance cover would be paid by the foundation.
