Fox forays into Indian TV with 'Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni'

New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) With Indian cinema drawing the attention of International filmmakers and Global studios in recent years, its now time for television to go global! In what could be seen as a significant step in the direction of globalisation of the Indian television scene, a show produced by Fox Television Studios India will be aired on Star Plus next week, marking the International studio's foray into Indian Television.

Incidentally, the serial, titled 'Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni' will be aired from April 23 on the 2100 hrs slot on Star Plus to replace the popular Game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', which ends its first season on Star Plus on April 19.

'Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni', an emotional and musical saga of a small town girl's trials and tribulations as she struggles to make it big in the field of music in the Mumbai's tinselworld, will be aired at 2100 hrs from Mondays to Thursdays.

According to Deepak Segal, Head, Fox Television Studios India, ''Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni' is different from the others soaps being shown on Star Plus in that the situations in the serial will be presented musically, in line with the musicals in the West.'' "Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni' is an attempt to offer loyal viewers something different from the regular fare on television. It is an emotional story of relationships, love saga with a musical background and as the show progresses one will see situations beautifully presented through songs. Infact, the treatment given to this show is as like a film with songs right across episodes. We are sure that viewers will dwell on the music and like the show very much," Deepak told UNI here.

He said at present the story of the show ran into 200-250 episodes, which approximately translated to about an year.

'Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni' is an emotional and musically moving saga of 19-year old Sudha, a small town girl and an aspiring singer, who wants to make it big in the field of music.

Circumstances bring her to Mumbai in search of a job where she meets the man of her dreams. Only to realise that the road she chose and the man she gave her heart to, both will have something else stored for her.

'Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni' is Sudha's journey from simple life to hardships, from dreams to the world of reality, from hope to destiny. The story revolves around the trials and tribulations of this young girl in the big city.
