Delay in land acqusition hinders employment growth
Kolkata, Apr 12 (UNI) Non-availability of land and delay in land acquisition have retarded the growth of employment in the manufacturing sector, according to a recent West Bengal Labour department report.
Referring to the government's land acquisition process, the report stated that getting suitable land was one of the biggest problems for industrial development.
The report mentioned that agriculture contributes less than five per cent of the GDP whereas the industry contributes about 30 per cent, which is why the agrarian economy had shifted towards industries.
