Kolkata, Apr 12 (UNI) Responding to Mamata Banerjee's appeal, the West Bengal Pradesh Congress has decided to share dais with the Trinamool Congress-led Krishi Jami Raksha Committee at a programme in the city tomorrow while observing 'protest day' against the Nandigram firing.

''We have been into the movement against forcible acquisition of farm land from the very beginning. It was because of the presence of the BJP that we could not fight jointly with the Krishi Jami Raksha Committee on this issue. But now that no BJP leader would attend the April 13 programme, we will be there,'' PCC Working President Pradip Bhattachqrjee told UNI.

Apart from participating in the programme, the PCC would separately observe 'protest day' throughout the state on April 13, he said.

Yesterday, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee appealed to all the political parties and intellectuals to participate in the programme as part of KJRC's 'save the land' movement.

PCC members Kanak Debnath and Subhankar Chakraborty would represent the party in the tomorrow's programme, Mr Bhattacharjee said.
