New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) The UPA government today decided in principle to reverse the decisions of the BJP-led NDA regime to wind up seven sick fertiliser units under the Fertiliser Corporation of India and Hindustan Fertiliser Corporation.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The units included those in Haldia, Gorakhpur, Ramagundam and Talcher, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.

The possibility of the revival would be explored by the Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministry headed by Ramvilas Paswan.

The units may be revived through joint venture partnership or restructuring, Mr Dasmunsi said.

The A B Vajpayee government had taken the decisions on closure of these units in 2002.
