BJP, SP two sides of same coin: Sibal
Lucknow, Apr 12 (UNI) Congress today wondered why the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh did not send any representative to the Election Commission where it was hearing all sides on the controversial BJP CD case.
Talking to reporters here, Union minister and convenor of AICC media management Kapil Sibal said while the politicial parties were unitedly demanding derecognition of BJP for distributing a comunally inflamatory CD in UP, no representative or leader of the SP was present. ''While BJP is communal, SP is facist...they have the same face,'' he alleged.
He claimed the two parties had a ''hidden strategy'' to defend themselves whenever they cave under attack.
''The roadshows of Rahul Gandhi during campaigning have created jitters in the ranks of the BJP...their only hope is to distribute CD to polarise voters,'' he claimed.
He also referred to the CD seized by police in Muzzafarnagar, distributed after the public meeting of SP MP Shahid Akhlak in Khatauli. ''I am told the CD had footage of the execution of Saddam Hussein and an FIR has been lodged,'' he said.
Mr Sibal pointed out that it had been the track record of the BJP all through to attack and level allegations against the Constitutional institutions, whether it be the President, the Speaker, Governor, the Supreme Court or the Election Commission.
''You can see the record in the history yourself.'' UNI
