BJP, NCP win by-polls to Jalgaon-Erandol constituency each

Jalgaon, Apr 12 (UNI) BJP and NCP won the by-elections to the Jalgaon and Erandol constituencies in Maharashtra today, with their candidates Haribhau Jawale and Vasantrao More respectively securing a margin of around 25,000 votes and 52,000 votes each.

In Jalgaon constituency, Mr Jawale (BJP) bagged 2,27,619 votes against his closest rival Dr Arjun Bhangale of Congress, who had polled 2,01,902 votes, election office sources said here.

In Erandol constituency, NCP candidate Mr More secured 2,41,707 votes over his nearest rival BJP candidate Dr B S Patil, who could garner 1,89,498 votes.

Eleven candidates were in the fray in the Jalgaon constituency, while 15 candidates were in Erandol constituency, sources added.
