A Villager killed by Maoists

Munger, Apr 12 (UNI) A villager was killed by activists of the CPI(Maoist) in Bari Hathia under Haveli Kharagpur police station area in this district.

Police sources here today said that more than a hundred armed Maoists swooped on one Bhagwat Vind's house last night and picked up his son Shubhash from the rooftop where he was sleeping.

The body of the victim was found with both arms chopped off.

The extremists were clad in army fatigues and fired in the air to scare away the villagers, police added.

The motive behind the murder has been attributed to refusal of the family to join the Maoists.

District borders had been sealed and intensive operations launched to nab the culprits, police added.
