Gujarat: 50,000 dalits to take out rallies

Ahmedabad, Apr 12: About 50,000 dalits will take out rallies in different cities of Gujarat on the occasion of the 116th birth anniversary of Dr BabaSaheb Ambedkar on April 14.

According to Gujarat unit of Bhartiya Dalit Panther Party general secretary K D Parmar, the rallies will be taken out simultaneously from Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Surendranagar, Vadodara and Dhrangadhra.

''In Ahmedabad, the rally will have participation of about 10,000 dalits. It will start from Rajpur Post Office and passing through Hiralalni Chali, Nagari Mill, and statue of Dr BabaSaheb Ambedkar at Sarangpur Bridge, terminate at Balia Limbadi,'' Mr Parmar told reporters here today.
