27 Improvement Trusts dissolved in Punjab
Chandigarh, Apr 12 (UNI) The Punjab Government today dissolved 27 Improvement Trusts and appointed civil service officials in place of the chairpersons, who were political appointees of the previous Congress government.
Disclosing this here today, Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia said that administrators would now look after the working of the Trusts in place of the chairpersons.
The Trusts dissolved included the prominent ones of Patiala, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ropar, Pathankot, Moga, Nawanshahar, Phagwara, Batala, Tarn Taran and Nangal.
Meanwhile the government has appointed S R Kaler PCS officer as administer of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust, which had been dissolved by the previous Congress government after the SAD-BJP had levelled allegations of corruption against the then chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and others in the multi crore City Centre project.
