Three killed, eight ultras arrested in J and K

Srinagar, Apr 11 (UNI) Three persons were killed while security forces arrested eight militants and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition as well as fake currency in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

Official sources said body of one Abdul Rahim Wagay was recovered from Dhobi Mohalla in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. Wagay was missing since October 28 last year.

A body was fished out from river Jehlum in North Kashmir today, they said.

An official spokesman said a civilian, Mohammad Yaseen, who was injured in a hand grenade blast at Reka Chowk near here last night, died in the hospital later. Eight civilian and a police constable were injured in the blast.

He said two militants were arrested alongwith some arms and ammunition in Pulwama while five others were arrested alongwith Rs 2500 in fake currency at Singpora, Pattan, in Baramulla district.

An encounter took place between militants and security forces at Kuchal in Doda district of Jammu region during a search operation last night. Later, one militant identified as Ghulam Nabi alias Zaffar Safa of Hibul Mujahideen was arrested alongwith an AK INSAS rifle, seven RPG rounds and one hand grenade.
