SGPC demands apology from Mandira over sikh symbol tattoo
Amritsar, Apr 11 (UNI) Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken strong exception to television star Mandira Bedi showing off the sacred Sikh symbol of 'Ek Omkar' tattooed on her back during a public appearance.
The SGPC chief Avtaar Singh Makkar today issued a statement demanding public apology from the glamorous actress and popular cricket show anchor for showing disrespect to the Sikh religion as an entertainment TV channel recently showed her swinging sensuously with the sacred symbol tattooed on her back flashing through her low-back blouse.
The apex Sikh religious body has also directed that if Mandira was a Sikh, she must appear in front of the Akal Takht and seek forgiveness from the highest spiritual and temporal seat of the religion.
The SGPC has also warned her to desist from such irreverent and irresponsible acts in future.
