Sealing of commercial places continues in Delhi: SC
New Delhi, Apr 11: The Supreme Court today said the sealing of commercial premises in residential areas in the capital not protected by the Master Plan Delhi(MPD) 2021 would continue.
A bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat, C K Thakker and Lokeshwar Singh Panta expressed anguish that its orders to continue sealing operation were not carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi((MCD) and the Delhi police in letter and spirit.
The court which has summoned for delay, Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul and MCD commissioner A K Nigam to explain their conduct in not carrying out the sealing operations on April 3, 4 and 9 dispensed with their personal appearance.
"We have been told that the sealing operation has been resumed and it will continue unhampered", the judges observed.
