Aligarh, Apr 11 (UNI) Rahul Gandhi crisscrossed Western UP today on the campaign trail for the April 13 assembly elections- Phase two.

But due to the strict rules formulated by the Election Commission and shortage of time, the star campaigner of Congress, had to cut short the road show towards the end.

Mr Gandhi was campaigning for the second time for the Congress candidate Vivek Bansal who is standing from Aligarh Assembly seat in the upcoming UP elections.

District Administration had instructed road show to be organised between 1200 hrs to 1400 hrs. Moreover, the organizers were also advised that the officers of Election Commission would be observing the road show and any mishandling would result into necessary disciplinary action.

The road show started ahead of the scheduled time as the Congress leader reached the venue half an hour late. Rahul Gandhi and Vivek Bansal started the road show from Police lines with large number of cars moving together in a group. While taking greetings and shaking hands with the crowd assembled there, the caravan crossed several Muslim and Sikh areas.

However, Mr Gandhi could not go to Sasni Gate where he was supposed to wrap up the show as the allotted time had come to an end and thus the organizers decided to cut short the road show.
