Nine injured as oil tanker hits car
New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Nine people were injured, five of them seriously, when an oil tanker hit a car, which subsequently hit four others, in Naraina area of West Delhi early this morning.
The speeding oil tanker, coming from Punjabi Bagh side and heading towards Dhaula Kuan, hit a car standing at the Mayapuri crossing red light from behind at about 0600 hrs, according to sources.
The car, which was at the end of a queue due to red light, as a consequence hit another vehicle in front of it triggering a chain reaction that left a total of five vehicles damaged. Two of them were badly smashed.
Among the injured who were rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital after the incident was the driver of the oil tanker Ganesh Dutt.
While five were still in the hospital, the rest were relieved after first aid.
A case has been registered at Naraina police station.
