Nikkei up 0.2 pc, but Fanuc down on machine data
Tokyo, April 11: The Nikkei share average rose 0.20 percent on Wednesday with exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp. rising on a softer yen against the euro and following gains in U.S. stocks.
But machinery stocks such as industrial robot maker Fanuc Ltd. fell after February core machinery orders data came in below expectations.
The Nikkei was up 34.70 points at 17,699.39 as of 0001 GMT.
The TOPIX added 0.17 percent to 1,738.56.
