New PR policy in MP soon: Nagendra Singh

Bhopal, Apr 11 (UNI) Stressing on the need for healthy relations between the ruling dispensation and press, Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh today said a new Public Relations policy would be announced soon.

Mr Singh told a press conference here that the state government favoured a relationship of healthy criticism and coordination with the press.

He said the government welcomed pointing out of its drawbacks in a creative manner.

The Minister said the draft of the new Public Relations policy would be prepared soon. Senior journalists and other concerned people had been consulted in this regard.

On residential and other problems related to journalists, he said a decision would be taken after due consideration. The government was with the journalists over their just demands.

Mr Singh said press -- the fourth pillar of democracy -- had emerged stronger. As a result, its responsibility had increased with this strength.

He said he welcomed suggestions from media for taking the state forward while protecting its image of a peaceful state.
