MP CM thanks Raghuvansh for more districts included in NREGS
New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan today thanked Union Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh for including 13 more districts of the State under the National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme (NREGS) Phase 2, besides the 18 districts included initially.
The Chief Minister at a meeting with the Union Minister here also requested him to increase the existing quota under the Indira Awas Yojana.
Mr Prasad while commending the achievements of the State Government under the Rojgar Guarantee Scheme said that the State had not only topped in the budget utilisation but also scored in quality performance.
Mr Chouhan informed the Union Minister that under the NREGS as many as 44,42,000 job cards had been provided to people till February end. Under the scheme, 26,86,000 families have demanded employment against which employment has already been provided to 26,61,000 people in the state.
The Government has so far released an amount of Rs 1,737.96 crore to the concerned districts directly. The state Government has also allotted its share of Rs 179.85 crore to the districts. Thus a total amount of Rs 1970.61 crore has been provided to the districts under the scheme.
