Man posing himself as suspended PSI lands in police lock up

Rajkot, Apr 11 (UNI) A man, posing himself as suspended Police Sub Inspector, landed in a police lock up in Gondal town yesterday.

According to police, a man (35) introduced himself as suspended Police Inspector M B Patel to a constable who was on duty at Gondal bus station and asked him about the latter's location in a commanding voice.

The constable Ramdevsinh to whom he asked the location, suspected his behaviour and informed the matter to his two colleagues who took him to the police station where he was produced before the police inspector.

He confessed to the police during interrogation that he hails from nearby Mota-Ujla village where he is working in a farm and had given the examination of PSI in 1999 but was failed, the police said.

The police also recovered a diary from his possession containing telephone numbers of police officers, Forest Officers and GEB officials.

Further investigation was on.
