Kolkata, Apr 11 (UNI) Pledging to continue her movement against the small car project at Singur, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today demanded that the state government return land to the ''unwilling'' farmers.

''Our movement will continue until the governent returns the farmers' land which had been forcibly acquired,'' she said while addressing a rally here.

The rally was organised as part of a 48-hour relay hunger strike programme of the Trinamool-led Krishi Jami Raksha Committee demanding Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's resignation for the ''forceful'' land acquisition in Singur.

Alleging that most of the land for the small car factory had been forcibly taken away from the owners, Ms Banerjee said Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee should resign if he fails to prove that the plots were willingly eanded over by famers.

''We also want industry in the state. But it should not take place on agricultural land. The CM should resign if he fails to prove that the farmers have given land willingly,'' she said.

Holding the Chief Minister solely responsible for the Nandigram police firing, the Trinamool chief alleged that the findings of the CBI had been hushed up and the Left Front government was doing whatever it liked because of the UPA government at the Centre.

''If the CPI(M) believes that it will do anything it likes simply because UPA is there, it is mistaken. They will be nowhere after the Uttar Pradesh elections,'' she said.
