J'khand govt initiates steps to establish technical institutes
Ranchi, Apr 11 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has initiated steps to establish engineering colleges in Chaibasa, Ramgarh and Dumka districts.
Science and technology secretary A K Basu today said that besides three government engineering colleges, 'No Objection Certificates' (NOC) were yet given to private sectors to establish engineering colleges in Ranchi, Garwah, Vishrampur, Hazaribagh and Deoghar.
Mr Basu said Deoghar branch of Birla Institute of Technology would be functional from July this year.
A proposal was being prepared after consulting the authorities of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Steel Authority of India Limited(SAIL) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) for the exapansion of technical education through private and joint effort in state, Mr Basu added.
Mr Basu further said government had received the expenditure proposal for the establishment of an engineering college in Hazaribagh by the VBU.
Elaborating on the establishment of polytechnic institutes, he said steps had been taken to open polytechnic institutes in eight locations of state.
Mr Basu said a blue print of the Jharkhand Technology University Bill was also being prepared by the government for establishing a technology university in state.
