Japanese-Singapore JV Telsa Semiconductor launched

Bangalore, Apr 11 (UNI) TELSA Semiconductor, a Japanese-Singapore joint venture with a focus on Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Design was launched here today.

Singapore headquartered Auxineon Pte Ltd joined hands with Toppan Technical Design Centre Co Ltd (TDC) of Japan, a leading company in LSI technology space covering analog and mixed-signal IC design to leverage the cost advantage and huge talent pool that India offered in the Semiconductor space.

Auxineon was a leading provider in product development and technology solutions in services for high tech and electronic industries.

Headquartered in Tokyo, TDC had eight design centres in different locations in Japan. This was TDC's first foray outside Japan through collaboration with another company to focus on hi-end Analog and Mixed IC design and development work.

TDC President Arika Aso said, ''in addition to the huge knowledge pool and talent, India also has a growing demand and market for semiconductors. Through Telsa we want to tap this talent pool and be a part of this exciting opportunity and market. Our objective is to be customer centric and provide the state-of-the-art solutions in the shortest possible time.'' Auxineon CEO P Bala said Telsa would be a flagship company of Auxineon and a model for semiconductor companies aspiring to enter India.

''There are several contenders from India and other countries to partner TDC in setting up a new design and development facility outside of Japan. However, TDC chose to go with Auxineon acknowledging our customer's faith in 'insourcing approach', which has been helping several global companies benefit from India's technological prowess,'' he said.
