Jacob inaugurates Raj Bhawan Secretariat

Shillong, Apr 11 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor M M Jacob today inaugurated a newly built Raj Bhawan Secretariat here.

The historic-old Raj Bhawan Secretariat building was destroyed in a fire in March, 2003, during the swearing-in-ceremony of the new council of ministers of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government.

After opening the Secretariat, Mr Jacob said much efforts were given to maintain heritage during construction of the building.

He said this Raj Bhavan has witnessed many historical events rights from the British Raj to till date.

Chief Minister D D Lapang, Speaker M M Danggo, cabinet ministers and MLAs besides high official and others were present at the inaugural ceremony.
