HP to provide residential facilities to medical staff, says CM

Shimla, Apr 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government will provide residential facilities to the medical and para medical staff of the state in a phased manner.

Addressing a public meeting at Suliali in the district, he said the residential facilities to the medical and para medical staff to the health institutions would ensure round the clock medical services to the people, especially in the rural areas.

Mr Singh said Ayurvedic network in the state was supplementing the endeavour of the government in further strengthening the health network.

Efforts were on to provide indoor treatment facilities in the district-level Ayurveda institutions besides extending such facilities to the sub-division and tehsil-level, he said.

He said 85 more Ayurvedic doctors were likely to be appointed in the state to provide health facilities to the rural people.

Rajiv Gandhi Government Ayurvedic College at Paprola was emerged as one of the premier Ayurvedic health institution in the country where exhaustive research and treatment facilities were being provided, he said.

The Chief Minister also announced the construction of Ayurvedic Health Sub-Center building at Suliali and also sanctioned Rs 2.5 lakh for the mettling of the village road.

Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan, Transport and Tourism Minister, G S Bali were also present on the occasion.
