Kochi, Apr 11 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today observed that the Vigilance Court in Thiruvananthapuram had not properly perused the corruption case against Former State Finance Minister Vakkom B Purushothaman and directed the Vigilance Court to consider the matter afresh.

Justice K Hema remanded the petition of one Madathil Marakar Haji, against Mr Purushothaman, his son, daughter and son-in-law, back to the Vigilance Court for fresh consideration.

The petitioner, Haji Madathil Markar, had moved the High Court against the Vigilance Court order dated August 30, 2006, that there was no sufficient material to proceed against the former minister and his family members and the offences alleged were not made out.

The petitioner had alleged that Mr Purushothaman and his family members had amassed wealth by corrupt and illegal means and had conspired together to acquire enormous property worth crores of rupees in Thiruvananthapuram district.
