Govt will table enquiry report in House: Donkupar

Shillong, Apr 11 (UNI) Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Dr Donkupar Roy today told the Assembly that the government will place both the Williamnagar and Tura police firing enquiry report before the House.

Dr Roy made this assurance during the Question Hour, when Meghalaya Democratic Party MLA Process T Sawkmie asked the government the reason behind the delay in submitting both the enquiry report even after a lapse of 14 months.

The Commission of enquiry was supposed to submit their report to the government within a span of 60 days.

However, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that Williamnagar enquiry report was submitted to the government and Tura report is yet to be submitted due to pending case in Gauhati High Court.

Later, Dr Roy assured the House that the government will make no delay in tabling the report.
