Ferrous metals rise
Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) Ferrous metals rose on better buying support in the Bombay Metal Exchange as well as in the London Metal Exchange (LME), traders here informed.
In the ferrous section, copper utensils and brass cuttings rose by Rs 300 per quintal each while copper heavy and brass utensils also hiked by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on good demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab also increased by Rs 700 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively due to less stock supply.
Tin slab and nickel cathode fell by Rs five and Rs 35 per kg on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,700, Copper utensils - Rs 33,800, Brass utensils - Rs 26,300, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,300, Zinc slab Rs 19,700, Lead ingots - Rs 10,700, Tin slab - Rs 805 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,380 (per kg).
