Moradabad/Badaun, Apr 11: Terming Election Commission (EC) as an ''agent,'' of the Congress Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and ruling Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today alleged the body was determined to make the former party win the state assembly poll by any means. ''EC has gone astray and expecting justice from it would be a waste of time,'' Mr Yadav alleged while addressing election meetings in Badaun and Moradabad.

''I have a soft corner for Badaun, that is why I am contesting from Gunnaur assembly seat. After coming to power, the district would be brought on the lines of development,'' the CM asserted.

Inveighing against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the centre, he claimed its downfall was imminent.

''Even Father of the Nation Mahatama Gandhi once wished the disintegration of Congress. Now his wish is coming true...the mass base of Congress is on the decline,'' he maintained.

''I am confident about the ongoing UP assembly poll. In a democratic set up, people have the power to decide the fate of any party. All efforts of the opposition to shake pillars of my government will go in vain as people know well about the development works done by the SP-led regime,'' Mr Yadav said.

He lamented the opposition was training guns on his state government as they are weighing its achievements through'' a jaundiced eye.'' The CM alleged that the BJP election manifesto would pose a threat to the minorities,'' while the only aim of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BJP) is to jail my family members.''
