Downfall of UPA govt at Centre soon: Mulayam
Moradabad, Apr 11: Inveighing the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said its downfall will take place soon. ''Even father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi once wished the downfall of Congress. Now his wish will soon be satisfied as over the years, the mass base of Congress has considerably declined...,'' Mr Yadav said while addressing an election gathering here.
''I am fully confident about the results of the ongoing UP Assembly polls. In a democratic set up, people have the power to decide the fate of any party. All the efforts of the opposition to shake pillars of my government will go in vain as people know well about the development works done by the SP-led state government,'' former Defence Minister claimed.
He alleged the opposition is training guns at the state government as they are seeing its achievements through a ''jaundiced eye.'' The CM further alleged, ''the elction manifesto released by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will pose threat on security of the minorities, while the only aim of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BJP) is to jail my family members.''
