Cong responsible for infaltion in UP: SP

Farrukhabad, Apr 11 (UNI) Claiming that the Centre did not provide development funds to Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Samajwadi Party today held it responsible for inflation in the state.

''The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre never allocated funds for UP's development. No one except Congress is responsible for the rising prices of petrol and diesel,'' SP MP Akilesh Pratap Singh alleged while addressing an election meeting here.

The Centre is meting out a 'step-motherly' treatment to UP and does not want to see the state develop, Mr Yadav maintained.
