CM appeals local body employees to call off strike

Puducherry, Apr 11: Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today appealed the local body employees to call off their strike as the administration was taking steps to redress their grievances.

Replying to a special mention during zero hour in the assembly, Chief Minister said the committee constituted to consider the wage revision of the local body employees would submit its report to the administration in a couple of days.

The Chief Minister asked the employees to call off the stir and join duty as the administration would revise the salary as per the recommendations of the committee.

Earlier, in their special mentions R Viswanathan of CPI and R Siva (DMK) pointed out that the local body employees went on agitation as the government had failed to concede their demands.
